Eminem Taps Dr. Dre For New Album, Remembers Adam Yauch

'Yeah, of course he'll be involved,' Em says of his frequent collaborator Dre in radio interview.

<P>Hip-hop heavyweight <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/eminem/artist.jhtml">Eminem</a> has revealed he's currently back in the lab, knee-deep in crafting his upcoming eighth studio album. Speaking with DJ Whoo Kid on his Shade 45 radio show, Em gave an update on the progress of his next solo effort.</P><P>Saying he was still in the early stages of recording and the material has yet to take shape, the iconic rapper acknowledged he will go to his longtime collaborator <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/dr_dre/artist.jhtml">Dr. Dre</a> at some point in the process.</P><P>"Yeah, of course he'll be involved," he said. "I usually get going and kind of start going a certain direction and just record what I'm feeling. Then I'll go see Dre and fill in some of those pieces."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Adam Yauch: Remembering A Beastie Boy" id="id:1684534" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>With no release date set, August looks to be a busy month for Em and his Shady Records enterprise. In addition to an Asian tour that will hit multiple countries, his label's supergroup <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/slaughterhouse__2_/artist.jhtml">Slaughterhouse</a> will drop their long-awaited <a href="/news/articles/1685324/slaughterhouse-welcome-to-our-house.jhtml"><i>Welcome to: Our House</i></a> LP on August 28.</P><P>Eminem also commented on the <a href="/news/articles/1684488/adam-yauch-mca-beastie-boys-dead.jhtml">death of the Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch</a> in the rare interview. "It's really sad," he said. "It's really a shame. The Beastie Boys mean so much to hip-hop."</P>
