'Hopefully, the fans are just as excited about the release as we are,' Joe Budden tells MTV News about Welcome to: Our House.

Good things come to those who wait, but Slaughterhouse didn't just sit idly by since signing to Shady Records last year. Royce da 5'9", Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Crooked I have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on their second LP, Welcome to: Our House. And now that the album has a firm August 28 release date, the four horsemen of rap are just counting the days.

"It's finally here. We dealt with a couple of pushbacks, we dealt with being creative the whole way through, putting new music out there. Now, we're here," Joe Budden told MTV News on Sunday evening on the BET Awards red carpet in Los Angeles. "August 28, we're going to make it do what it do. Hopefully, the fans are just as excited about the release as we are, and we can't wait."

The group officially formed in late 2008, and the following year, they independently released their self-titled debut. Because each of the four members was a noted soloist with separate deals and obligations to deal with, they recorded their first album together in less than a week. The result was a critically acclaimed, rap fan's lyrical dream. Each track was packed with intricate flows and an accelerated word play. The fact that SH has had more time to work on Welcome to: Our House is very encouraging for the group.

The album's first single, "Hammer Dance," is an aggressive street tune, while the Cee Lo Green-assisted "My Life" is a rags-to-riches track that should earn the rap quad some much-deserved radio play. "There are records where those core Slaughterhouse fans will get their 'Ohs and ahs,' like, 'OK, the pen is pushing,' " Joell Ortiz told us during a May set visit to the group's "My Life" video. "It's themed, but we take you on a ride through this album. Y'all gonna enjoy it."

Now, a few months later on the BET red carpet, and Ortiz is even more excited. "We really got busy this time around, man. The first album, we had six days to do it, this time around we're with a major label, Shady Records," he said. "Shout to Eminem: He mixed the entire record. This album is going to be incredible."

What are you hoping to hear on Welcome to: Our House? Leave your comment below!
