'It's amazing the way two people are the same kind of people from two different generations,' Snoop says of his younger collaborator.

Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg share a few uncanny similarities. Yes, they're both tall and lanky and (allegedly) quite fond of marijuana, but they have even more in common. Their music and laid-back, positive personalities have a universal appeal that seems to transcend genre, gender, race and class.
And Snoop can thank his eldest son for bridging the generation gap between the artists. When MTV News caught up with Snoop recently, he said he had his son to thank for introducing him to Wiz's music.
"I never knew him, but my oldest son used to play his music all throughout his house, and I'd be like, 'Who is this mother----er he is playing?' " Snoop said. "I'll be going downstairs, and I'd hear it in the bathroom downstairs and then I'd hear it upstairs. I'm like, 'Man, who is this?' Then I got hip to him and I started peepin' him and watching him and listening, and I'm like, 'Man, this guy is fly.' "
Snoop loved the fact that Wiz shared the hometown of his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers — as well as the fact that he loved to smoke just as much as Snoop did — so he said he had to reach out to the Taylor Gang general. Wiz accepted his invitation to come out and hang at Snoop's studio. The two recorded some music and shot a video for the "Black and Yellow" remix. He said Wiz even came back to stay another week. In fact, this buddy comedy waiting to happen actually spawned ... a buddy comedy.
"We created a movie called 'High School,' created like six songs, and we're looking forward to dropping that later on this year."
Snoop said that the movie was a joint venture between the two and he hoped it would become a cult classic like "Half Baked," "Animal House" or a Cheech and Chong flick. He was amazed at how similar he and Wiz are despite their age difference.
"It's amazing the way two people are the same kind of people from two different generations, but we're cut from the same cloth."
