Will Smith's kids are having the best week ever.

First 9-year-old Willow Smith dropped her first music video — an infectious, Internet meme-generating take on her top-20 single, "Whip My Hair." Now it looks like her 12-year-old brother Jaden — who starred in the $358 million blockbuster "The Karate Kid" this summer — could be joining up with M. Night Shyamalan for a new project.

The "Last Airbender" director is said to be developing a top-secret sci-fi flick called "One Thousand A.E.," according to The Hollywood Reporter, and is eyeing Jaden Smith to star in it.

Jaden's parents, who produced "Karate Kid," are reportedly getting in on the action too. Shyamalan is said to be developing the film for Overbrook, the production slate run by Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and others.

Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, but what we know now is that while Shyamalan plans to direct "A.E.," he will not pen the script, a departure from most of his previous work. Scripting duties are being carried out by Gary Whitta ("The Book of Eli"). There's also said to be a prominent role for an adult male, though Will Smith will not be signing up for the part.

In June, Shyamalan was shopping a project about a missing child — with Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bruce Willis attached to star — but a buyer was never found. In addition to "A.E.," Shyamalan, in the role of producer, is pushing forward with the follow-up to "Devil," the first of a planned "Night Chronicles" trilogy. The second movie, called "Reincarnate," follows a jury haunted by supernatural forces that could help them decide their case.
